Artist James Michalopoulos

Rockin To New Orleans  was the first Jazz Fest poster produced after Hurricane Katrina. Along with Fats’ unbelievable rescue from the roof of his home, this poster reminds us of the resilience of the soul of a great city.

Antoine “Fats” Domino is considered to be a symbol of all that makes New Orleans great and unique.  “The Fat Man” (from which he gained his nickname) is considered by many to be the first rock & roll record ever.
Second only to Elvis, Fats was the next largest-selling rock & roll music star of the 50’s and early-60’s.  He had 35 Top-40 singles from 1955 through 1963.
